When drafting a cover for my latest freebie short story, I created many, many, many variations of the cover. Most looked pretty awful, but some of them had a certain psychedelic charm that reminded me of 1960s psychedelic poster art. All of these images use (we could say misuse, even abuse) the lovely painting “Cupid and Psyche” by Francois Giraud.
I’ve added some of these alternative covers to this post. Feel free to do whatever you like with them. All these images are licensed under a Creative Commons CC-BY-SA 4.0 license–please just link back to this page (or esmerome.com) when you use them.
