Fairy Tales Unleashed

Break out the Advent Calendars! It's coming up on Christmas, and I hope your holiday season feels like the happy ending of a fairytale. A Charles Perrault fairytale, not one of the darker ones by the Brothers Grimm! But if it feels that way, I hope it's at least interesting…

If you're in the mood for fairytales, I have the showcase for you. Fairy Tales Unleashed features all sorts of young and new adult fairytales. Some are a bit steamy, so be warned. To read them, click here or click the image below:

The Rose Kiss is now on Audible!

A square image of the Rose Kiss cover by Esme Rome. Shows a young woman in a red dress with her eyes downcast.Hello everyone! I have some exciting news for you. The first book in the Fairy Tale Love Stories series, The Rose Kiss, is now available on Audible!

You can get the audiobook now by clicking on this link. If you've previously bought or borrowed the Kindle version, you can open the ebook and get the audiobook right from your phone. It's only $7.49 if you've already bought the ebook.

The Rose Kiss is my retelling of the story of Beauty and the Beast. It follows Belladonna Moreau as she tries to run from a false accusation of murder and witchcraft, and how she flees to an enchanted castle with a mysterious owner.

Victoria McCabe, the narrator, has really brought this book to life. I am so impressed with her work and am so happy I got to work with her on this project. We plan to put out the audiobook for The Dream Kiss some time next year. I look forward to it!

Wolf Cursed, Episode One: A YA Shifter Academy Romance

Leaving the forest was the hardest thing I've ever done, but my curse—and my mother—gave me no choice. Now I'm stuck in my human body, a student at an academy for “defective” shifters.

Midnight Wolf Academy is a hotbed of intrigue, backbiting, and deadly games. Right now, it's my only home.

Too bad this home is full of dangers. Like Alessandro D'Avalos, a ghost shifter with a heart of iron, a face like Adonis, and a smell that drives me to distraction. Or Soren Blackwood, a vampire-shifter hybrid thanks to an accidental love bite. From me. Ever heard of enemies to lovers? We're like that, but in reverse.

As if that's not enough, something's happening in the forest. Something bad. Enemies are gathering outside the academy gates. Soren's vampire family wants to break our treaty and start a war. I haven't seen my mother in a year. I don't know where to turn or who to trust.

Should I stay and discover the strange human world, or do I fight to return to my true home, even if it doesn't want me back?

Either way, I can't stay as I am. War or no war, something has to change.

Wolf Cursed, Episode One drops on October 19, 2021. One-click to crush a curse today!

Due to some family issues, the pandemic, and a few other problems, I'm releasing this book in episodes. Episode One contains the first six chapters of this book, plus a preview of the next episode. If you already preordered and expected a full book, I have to apologize. This isn't how I wanted to release Wolf Cursed, but this will allow me to tell Red's story instead of leaving it in a drawer. If you wish, you can get a refund for your preorder by following this tutorial.

Subscribers to my newsletter will get the opportunity to read future episodes for free before they come out. They'll also get first access to exclusive giveaways and swag packs, including a paperback version when it appears.

Pardon My Dust…

My website is currently changing themes and I'm adding/changing modules as we speak. There is so much going on right now, it might be some time before it starts to look normal. Here are some of the things happening right now in my world:

  • The lovely and talented Victoria McCabe is creating an audiobook version of The Rose Kiss! It sounds so lovely and we're just ironing out some of the tech-gremlins right now. When it goes for release you'll be the first to know!
  • I'm working on publishing The Dream Kiss in paperback, hardcover, and large print, with an audiobook to follow.
  • The next episode of  Wolf Cursed.
  • And more that I can't talk about…

I hope to have another update post for you soon. I also hope that life goes back to normal, or at least a newer version of normal (Normal 2.0?) soon-ish. Talk to you soon…

Late September Romance

If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can find almost one hundred new romance books to borrow at this all-romance showcase. Some of them are paranormal, some are day-to-day. Some are clean, others are…not so much. My books are included in the promotion, but you already know about me!

To start reading the showcase books, click on the image below:

If you don't have Kindle Unlimited, or are on the fence, you can get a 30-day free trial here. It's $9.99 a month after that, and you can borrow up to ten books at a time. If you read a lot, especially in KU-heavy genres like fantasy and romance, it's completely worth it. At least, it has been for me. You also get a reduced price on the audiobooks of any books you borrow, so if you're a heavy audiobook listener like I am, that's definitely a perk.

Why aren’t my comments showing up?

If you've left a comment on and are wondering why it isn't showing up, the answer is pretty simple.

Right now I have over 500 comments in the queue. The vast majority of them are, shall we say, off topic. If you want to know how to buy Bitcoin or enlarge part of your anatomy, come see my comment queue sometime.

I've been so busy with the book I haven't set up the right controls, and the spambots definitely took notice. So please wait a few days and try leaving the comment again, because I'm probably just going to delete them all after I set up the spam filter.

On the other hand, if you have a hard time selecting the squares that feature a crosswalk, or typing out the swirly text in the box, now's your chance…

Brave by Kristina J Jordan.

I'm pleased to feature several more books this week as part of my newsletter swap. The first is Brave by Kristina J Jordan. It's a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and part of Jordan's series, The Crown and the Sceptre. You can read it here.

Die From a Broken Heart was also featured last week. It's a YA romance set in a haunted mansion, with all the suspense and horror you'd expect from such a dark setting. Perfect for my readers! Read it here.

Thanks to everyone for reading. I have another new announcement coming up soon! Let's just say you should listen for it…

Free Book Thursday

The cover of The Dream Kiss, by Esme Rome. The cover shows a young woman in a purple dress in a fantastical landscape.Happy first Thursday of September! It doesn't feel like fall yet where I am, but I am definitely ready for the autumn chill, leaves turning colors, and cute scarves and jackets. It's been a hard year and a half, so I'd love a season of cool breezes, firewood, and hot chocolate. Yum!

How is your September so far? I hope it's going well. If it isn't, I hope my books can at least offer you an escape. I'm very excited about releasing The Dream Kiss, and a little scared about releasing another one, Wolf Cursed, in just under a month and a half. Eek! It's in a slightly different genre, so I hope I understand the tropes and expectations. And I hope you enjoy it!

The Rose Kiss and The Dream Kiss are both free on Amazon for a limited time. If you want to get the entire series–including The Poison Kiss, which comes out next year–just click on this link to buy everything for $0.99.
